In a pilot program, nurses are using AI to draft responses to patient messages, which are then reviewed and edited for accuracy and tone before being sent to patients. This innovative approach aims to improve the care experience for patients while alleviating the workload of healthcare professionals. With over 75 nurses already using the AI tool, the results are promising, with over 3,000 messages generated across 30 departments. The nurses’ involvement in shaping the use of AI in healthcare is crucial, as it ensures that the technology is developed with the needs of patients and healthcare professionals in mind.
