Samsung Electronics is taking a significant leap in artificial intelligence (AI) technology by extending its AI-powered real-time translation feature to third-party messaging apps, including KakaoTalk. This move is part of the company’s efforts to expand the influence of its on-device Galaxy AI. According to Choi Won-joon, the executive vice president heading Samsung Electronics’ R&D division for mobile devices, this initiative aims to provide seamless communication without compromising user privacy. The feature, known as Live Translate, will be integrated into third-party messaging apps for voice calls, allowing users to communicate effortlessly across language barriers. What’s more, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 will feature Galaxy AI tailored specifically for foldable smartphones. I believe this development has the potential to revolutionize the way we communicate, especially in today’s globalized world. With Samsung’s hybrid AI model, which balances speed, security, and expansive capabilities, the possibilities for mobile AI features seem endless.
