Boomi, a US-based company specializing in connecting applications, interfaces, data sources, and web services, has introduced its AI agent framework at the recent Boomi World 2024 event. The framework is designed to provide a unified platform with APIs, applications, data, and AI models, enabling enterprises to access a wide variety of AI agents that fulfill specific tasks. The AI agent framework is built around an agent garden architecture, allowing enterprises to select, train, and ground AI agents using their own data to meet their business objectives.

The framework includes four in-house developed AI agents, including Boomi Answers, Boomi DataDetective, Boomi DesignGen, and Boomi Scribe. Additionally, Boomi has partnered with third-party agents, such as Vianai, to provide conversational AI for finance. This partnership allows users to connect sources of data in ERP systems, databases, customer data lakes, and other data to discover and analyze financial data and trends in real-time.

What’s significant about Boomi’s AI agent framework is its potential to lower the barrier for businesses to harness the power of AI. By providing a unified platform with a variety of AI agents, Boomi is making AI more accessible and practical for enterprises. As the concept of an AI agent marketplace gains traction, Boomi’s first-mover advantage could give it an edge in the market. However, the company will need to attract and grow the number of AI agents on its platform, while also ensuring users can find the right agents and customize them to their needs.
