In a recent FedScoop interview, Ben Snively, director and senior principal technologist at Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Ross Autry, AWS Partnership Executive – U.S. Federal Government at IBM, delved into the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) in federal IT modernization. They highlighted how AI-enabled platforms are revolutionizing the process, significantly reducing project costs and timelines. AI tools are streamlining application environment analysis, mapping legacy systems, and validating data integrity, allowing federal agencies to modernize their IT infrastructure more efficiently. The IBM and AWS alliance has already demonstrated notable success in this arena, with a collaboration with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) reducing document processing times from six months to six hours. As AI governance and scaling become increasingly important, AWS’s secure environment and IBM’s consultancy services are helping federal agencies harness the full potential of AI.
