Dubai is taking a significant leap in its artificial intelligence journey by launching the “One Million AI Prompters” initiative, which aims to train one million people in AI prompt engineering within the next three years. This ambitious program is the first of its kind globally, and it marks a significant step towards Dubai’s goal of becoming a global center for artificial intelligence. The initiative is part of the United Arab Emirates’ broader strategy to transform itself from an oil state into an AI power, with plans to generate 40% of its GDP through AI by 2031. The program is critical in developing expertise and skills that support global technological change and put Dubai at the forefront of innovation.
The “One Million AI Prompters” initiative is a significant step towards achieving this goal, as AI prompt engineering is critical to getting the best out of generative AI. The program will prepare experts and competencies in AI prompt engineering, which involves crafting precise and effective instructions for AI systems to achieve desired outcomes in various tasks. The initiative has already gained significant traction, with global giants such as Microsoft, Google, and IBM participating in the first Global Prompt Engineering Championship held in Dubai.
In my opinion, this initiative is a game-changer for Dubai and the UAE, as it has the potential to position the region as a global leader in AI. The fact that the UAE is investing heavily in AI and has appointed the world’s first Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, demonstrates its commitment to becoming an AI powerhouse.
