The increasing adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has brought about both opportunities and threats to cybersecurity. Speaking at Infosecurity Europe, Tal Zamir, CTO of Perception Point, highlighted how attackers are leveraging GenAI to enhance their operations, but also emphasized the potential for defenders to utilize GenAI to boost their capabilities. Zamir warned of the risks associated with GenAI, including the potential for full automation of the attack process, fake GenAI apps, and data leaks. However, he also showcased the benefits of GenAI in enhancing protection, such as better detection and elimination of incident response work. Notably, Zamir demonstrated Perception Point’s ability to automatically detect and prevent Business Email Compromise (BEC) emails, highlighting the potential for GenAI to revolutionize cybersecurity.
