Eli Finkelshteyn, cofounder and CEO of Constructor, secured a $25 million Series B funding round led by Sapphire Ventures, with participation from existing investor Silversmith Capital Partners. Constructor specializes in AI-driven search and product discovery technology tailored for enterprise e-commerce companies like Bonobos and Sephora. Despite not actively seeking new funding, Finkelshteyn engaged in regular discussions with investors. During one of these conversations, Sapphire Ventures partner Rajeev Dham expressed interest in Constructor, leading to an impromptu pitch using the company’s sales deck and slides from a recent board meeting. This unconventional approach resulted in an unexpected term sheet the following morning. The new funding, which values the company at $550 million, will be used to enhance product functionality and expand into new markets. Constructor’s technology offers personalized search results, product recommendations, landing pages, and quizzes for e-commerce platforms, aiming to improve customer experience through AI.
