Google has launched its AI-powered Gemini mobile app in India, supporting nine regional languages along with English. This rollout, occurring four months after its U.S. debut, enables Indian users to interact with the app in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The app is powered by Gemini 1.0 Pro by default, but users can opt for a paid version, Gemini Advanced, which runs on Gemini 1.5 Pro and offers enhanced capabilities like processing documents up to 1,500 pages and complex data analysis, all with support for the same nine languages. Besides India, the app has also been quietly released in Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Android users can download the app from the Google Play Store, and iPhone users in India will soon have access through the Google app. Google plans to integrate Gemini into Google Messages in English for Indian users starting today, with further expansions into other Google apps like Gmail, Google Messages, and YouTube expected in the coming months.
