Siemens is set to accelerate the hydrogen ramp-up by providing advanced AI-powered software tools tailored for the hydrogen industry. The company is introducing the Hydrogen Plant Configurator, an intelligent chatbot that utilizes generative artificial intelligence to streamline the design, engineering, and automation of hydrogen production plants. The configurator enables users to input desired design characteristics, and the AI generates comprehensive block flow diagrams and precise layouts. These designs can predict key figures like power consumption and heat generation, which can then be transferred to engineering software such as Siemens’ Comos and gProms for further development.
Additionally, Siemens is launching Comos AI, an AI-based tool designed to assist in the project planning phase by creating equipment specifications and diagrams from natural language descriptions. The tool can also convert models and drawings for simulation software, and provide detailed engineering information. To further enhance automation processes, Siemens introduces the SFC Generation module for the Simatic PCS neo distributed control system, which uses AI to create sequential function charts for complex workflows.
These innovations are set to be available on the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace by the end of 2024, with a broader rollout expected in early 2025.
