The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized various industries, and it is essential for students to be well-equipped to navigate this AI-driven world. Vishalini Ramnath, assistant director of undergraduate programs in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, has taken the initiative to develop two new AI-focused pilot courses at Auburn University. These courses, part of the university’s AI@AU Initiative, aim to equip students with essential AI literacy, enabling them to succeed in the workforce. The courses, “The Power of AI: Fundamentals to Applications” and “Programming Fundamentals for Artificial Intelligence,” will provide students with hands-on exercises and projects to develop practical skills. This endeavor is a significant step towards creating an inclusive and forward-thinking educational environment in Alabama, preparing students for AI-related careers and advanced studies.
