The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) has announced the launch of a new certificate program, the Risk and AI (RAI) Program, designed to help professionals understand and manage the risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI). This program is a significant step forward in addressing the growing need for risk professionals to comprehend the implications of AI on their organizations. The RAI Program is the result of a collaborative effort between world-leading AI experts and senior risk practitioners, providing a comprehensive curriculum that covers the evolution of AI, AI tools and techniques, AI risks and risk factors, responsible and ethical AI, and governance frameworks for deploying AI responsibly.

The program’s launch is timely, given the increasing adoption of AI across industries and the corresponding need for risk management professionals to stay ahead of the curve. According to GARP, less than half of respondents in a global study indicated that their firms provide training and education on AI and its risk implications, highlighting a significant knowledge gap that the RAI Certificate aims to fill.

As AI becomes an integral part of business strategy, it is essential for organizations to create trustworthy AI-driven solutions that ensure credibility with customers, regulators, and the public. The RAI Certificate is poised to become a valuable resource for professionals seeking to develop their expertise in AI risk management.
