Europe and Israel are emerging as key players in the artificial intelligence landscape, with a new report from Accel and Dealroom highlighting the region’s potential to catch up with the US in the AI sector. The report reveals that London is the city with the most generative AI startups, followed by Tel Aviv, Berlin, and Amsterdam. French-founded GenAI startups have raised the most money, with a total of $2.29 billion in funding. The report suggests that the region’s strong educational institutions and the presence of major tech companies are key factors in the growth of AI startups. The “founder factories” of hyperscaler tech companies, such as Alphabet, Apple, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft, are also playing a significant role in feeding the AI startup ecosystem.
