Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has teamed up with the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN) to address the growing demand for AI skills in the state’s workforce. This innovative partnership aims to upskill the next generation of students, from elementary to high school, by providing them with artificial intelligence training. The courses, developed through Intel’s Digital Readiness AI for Workforce program, are entirely online and adapted for the Canvas platform, making them accessible to teachers and students alike. With no prerequisites or deadlines, these courses are designed to be comprehensive and engaging, covering modules such as historical and future implications, ethical and societal impacts, and more. I believe this initiative is a forward-thinking move, as AI is becoming an integral part of our daily lives, and it’s essential to equip our future workforce with the skills to harness its power while mitigating its risks.
