The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing is rapidly gaining momentum, with IBM at the forefront of this technological convergence. The company is leveraging its expertise in both areas to enhance the development and adoption of quantum computing. By combining its watsonx AI platform with its Qiskit software, IBM is improving the ease of use of its SDK tools and OpenQASM3, making it more accessible to developers. The company is also researching new AI models to optimize circuit optimization, resource management, and error suppression. Additionally, IBM is introducing the Qiskit Code Assistant service and two quantum chatbots to assist developers and users. With its aggressive roadmap, IBM is poised to reach 100 million gates by the end of the decade and 1 billion gates around 2033, paving the way for the deployment of practical quantum applications.
