Shopify has officially launched its AI-powered chatbot, Sidekick, in early access as part of its “Summer ’24 Edition” updates. This innovative tool is designed to assist merchants in various tasks, such as generating discount codes, creating reports, and suggesting blog post ideas. Although it may seem like typical AI chatbot functionality, Sidekick has the potential to revolutionize the way merchants receive support and assistance. What sets Sidekick apart is its ability to learn and adapt to merchant needs, making it a valuable resource for Shopify users. Currently, Sidekick is only available to English-speaking merchants in North America, but the company plans to expand its reach to other languages and regions. In addition to Sidekick, Shopify has also introduced other AI-focused tools, including AI-powered product categorization and suggested replies for customer chats.
