Jobright.ai aims to simplify job searches for foreign workers in the U.S. by providing an H1-B visa sponsorship filter and leveraging AI to act as a personalized headhunter. Founded by immigrant Eric Cheng, who understands the unique challenges faced by non-immigrant job seekers, the platform uses data from USCIS to help users find visa-sponsoring employers. Since its launch, Jobright has gained 50,000 registered users, mainly due to its effective H-1B filter. The platform also uses large language models to recommend jobs based on candidates’ experiences, scoring positions for compatibility, and identifying potential LinkedIn contacts for job referrals. Unlike other AI-powered job search platforms, Jobright targets mid- to senior-level professionals, providing personalized job search strategies. Cheng believes that Jobright’s AI-native approach offers a significant advantage over more traditional platforms like LinkedIn, which would face high costs to fully integrate AI. The startup has raised $4.5 million and plans to expand its services beyond the U.S.
