Tengo, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool, leverages artificial intelligence to streamline the identification, evaluation, and response process to public tenders, simplifying a task traditionally laden with bureaucratic complexity. Originating from the startup studio Hexa, Tengo recently secured a €3 million funding round led by Point Nine. Public tenders represent a significant yet underexploited market for many companies due to the resources required to navigate them. In France, where there are over 200 platforms hosting such tenders, the challenge is even more pronounced. Tengo addresses this by enabling companies to create custom feeds that scan and identify relevant tenders automatically. The AI technology parses through extensive documents, highlighting key aspects according to predefined criteria, which can be as specific as requiring 100% online training courses, as is the case with client OpenClassrooms. Additionally, Tengo serves as a centralized platform for managing all tender-related activities, including application tracking, collaboration, and deadline alerts. It even integrates AI to assist in document generation, reducing the need to switch between different software tools. The startup envisions a future where multiple clients can collaborate on joint applications, thus encouraging broader SME participation in public contracts. Despite being in its nascent stage with only a few dozen clients, Tengo aims to expand its footprint in a market with over 40,000 companies responding to public tenders in France.
