On Friday, rumors of a cyberattack against HubSpot began circulating on social media. HubSpot, a major player in CRM and marketing automation software, confirmed it is investigating a cybersecurity incident. According to HubSpot’s Chief Information Security Officer Alyssa Robinson, the security breach involved bad actors targeting a limited number of HubSpot customers, attempting to gain unauthorized access to their accounts. The company has already activated its incident response protocols, and since June 22, has been contacting impacted customers to revoke unauthorized access and secure their data. Although the company has not disclosed whether it has received any communication from the malicious actors, it is working diligently to mitigate the impact. HubSpot serves over 216,000 corporate clients, including big names like Discord, Eventbrite, and Talkspace. The full extent of the breach and the number of affected customers remain unclear. HubSpot’s market cap stood at nearly $30 billion as of Friday.
