The 2024 Paris Olympics is set to showcase artificial intelligence in various ways, from chatbots that assist athletes to AI-powered highlight reels and talent identification systems. Intel, the official artificial intelligence platform provider for the Olympic Games, is leading the charge with its Gaudi 2 generative AI platform. The chatbot, integrated into the Athlete 365 application, will help athletes navigate the Olympic Village and games, answering questions on everything from doping rules to bus schedules. Intel’s AI will also auto-tag and create real-time highlights of events, making it easier for broadcasters to showcase lesser-known sports and countries. Additionally, the Talent ID system, developed in partnership with Samsung, will use computer vision to identify the Olympic sport that participants are best suited for. Other AI integrations include a wayfinding system and space use analysis to improve navigation and planning. With over 100 Intel employees working on the project, this Olympics is set to be the most tech-savvy one yet.
