Wimbledon and IBM have introduced a new AI feature, “Catch Me Up,” which provides personalized player stories and analysis to enhance the digital experience for tennis fans. Developed using IBM’s Granite large language model, the feature generates pre- and post-match player cards with AI-driven content, offering insights and predictions tailored to user preferences. This innovation enables Wimbledon to scale its content, covering a broader range of matches, including wheelchair events, and providing fans with timely and curated coverage. According to a recent survey, a majority of tennis fans globally, and specifically in the UAE, view AI positively, believing it will enhance fan engagement, advance training, and improve game strategy. This feature is a significant step forward in using AI to deliver compelling storytelling and insights at scale, making fans feel more connected to the on-court action.
