Quora’s Poe platform has launched a new feature called Previews, enabling users to create interactive applications directly within chatbot conversations. This innovative tool allows for the creation of data visualizations, games, and even musical instruments through simple text prompts.

Previews offers:

  • Cross-model compatibility, allowing users to leverage multiple AI models for app creation
  • Support for various file types, including videos
  • Easy sharing of created apps via links
  • HTML output with CSS and JavaScript functionality

The feature is similar to Anthropic’s Artifacts but offers broader model support and more extensive output options. Quora emphasizes that Previews works best with AI models proficient in programming, such as Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GPT-4o, and Gemini 1.5 Pro.

While Previews showcases Poe’s commitment to expanding AI capabilities, it comes amid controversy. A recent Wired investigation alleged that Poe allowed users to access paywalled articles from major publications, a claim Quora disputes. This situation highlights the ongoing challenges in balancing innovation with ethical considerations in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
