Overview of the Initiative

By utilizing existing tools, the OAG has developed an intelligent search engine that helps workers find relevant information quickly. This initiative was presented at the TASSCC 2024 conference by key figures in the OAG, showcasing how technology can enhance efficiency in government operations.
Key Features of the Search Engine
- The search engine is built on the Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB platform, ensuring data security and control.
- A glossary of 150 acronyms was created to aid users in understanding terminology.
- The system allows for saved searches and citations, making it user-friendly and efficient.
- Approximately one hour per week has been saved for each of the initial 40 employees testing the system, potentially translating to thousands of hours saved across the division.

This project is significant as it addresses a major pain point for child support case workers, allowing them to focus more on direct casework rather than extensive research. With over 2,200 employees and millions of active cases, the OAG’s Child Support Division plays a vital role in supporting families. By improving access to information, the initiative enhances productivity and service delivery, ultimately benefiting the nearly 15 million members in the child support system.
