While using AI tools to generate imagery, he noticed a recurring problem: the images produced depicted white surfers with darkened skin. To address this, Mesfin and his team launched “Breaking Bias,” a collaboration with Pocstock and over 22 partners, aimed at creating the first-ever Ethical AI Guidebook. This guidebook is designed to help developers and creators make AI imagery more representative of diverse communities.
