Samsung Electronics’ Vice Chairman Jay Y. Lee met with top executives from Meta, Amazon, and Qualcomm to discuss potential collaborations in areas such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and semiconductor technology. The meetings, which took place at the homes of Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon’s Andy Jassy, as well as Qualcomm’s CEO Cristiano Amon, aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation in these fields. Samsung, which has been facing challenges in the chip industry, particularly in high-end memory for AI, hopes to revitalize its semiconductor division through these partnerships. The company plans to hold a company-wide strategic meeting at the end of June, which will be informed by Lee’s discussions with the three U.S. firms.

In my opinion, these meetings signal a significant shift in Samsung’s strategy, as the company seeks to regain its footing in the chip industry. By partnering with tech giants, Samsung can leverage their expertise and resources to develop cutting-edge technologies. This could be a game-changer for the company, which has been struggling to keep up with competitors.
