Thales, a global leader in advanced technologies, and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) have signed a partnership agreement to develop trusted generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for defence and security sectors. Through this three-year partnership, Thales will provide its AI expertise and deep knowledge of the defence and security sectors, while the CEA will contribute its know-how in multimodal generative AI. The partnership aims to create trusted, sovereign generative AI solutions for critical mission requirements, focusing on use cases for the armed forces, such as accelerating OODA command loops and implementing AI as a trusted smart assistant for users. This collaboration will also facilitate interaction between operators and complex systems, ensuring interoperability within coalitions. As a leader in trusted AI for mission-critical systems, Thales is committed to delivering AI solutions that meet the specific security and sovereignty needs of its customers. The CEA, with its expertise in AI technologies, will support Thales in developing large language models and vision language models for targeted sectors and use cases.
