As the world continues to grapple with the potential of artificial intelligence, a recent gathering of business leaders in Nashville highlighted the need for education and demystification of the technology. Despite the hype surrounding AI, its adoption remains limited, with only about 5% of companies nationwide using the technology. While some large companies are finding uses for AI, many smaller companies are still just starting to explore its potential. Economists predict that AI will eventually drive a boom in productivity, but it may take years for its impact to be felt. Allison Giddens, co-president of Win-Tech, an aerospace manufacturing company, is one of the few small business owners who has started using AI for operational tasks, but she faces hurdles in implementing it more broadly. As the technology continues to evolve, it’s clear that education and adoption will be key to unlocking its full potential.
