The integration of artificial intelligence in our daily lives has sparked fears of job displacement, and a recent study by (un)Common Logic has identified the cities and states most at risk. According to the study, three of the top 10 metropolitan areas with the most workers at risk of AI job displacement are in Florida, with Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater ranking first nationwide. The study found that jobs that involve repetitive or straightforward tasks, such as data entry, proofreading, and bookkeeping, are most likely to be replaced by AI. Additionally, certain industries like accounting, insurance, and customer service are also at high risk. What’s alarming is that in five states, including Florida, more than one in ten workers are vulnerable to AI-related automation. This raises concerns about the impact of AI on the job market and the need for workers to develop skills that are less likely to be automated. While AI may bring efficiency and innovation, it’s crucial to consider the human cost and prepare workers for the changing landscape.
