Audi, part of the Volkswagen Group, has partnered with Cerence Inc. to integrate generative AI technology into its in-car assistant, enhancing the driving experience for its customers. The partnership will see Audi deploy Cerence Chat Pro in Audi vehicles equipped with the MIB 3 infotainment platform, starting with model year 2021 via back-end activation, as well as upcoming models. This move is part of Audi’s focus on creating added value for cars already on the road and advancing its in-car assistant capabilities for the future. With Cerence Chat Pro, Audi drivers will be able to engage in conversational chit-chat with the in-car assistant, which will provide accurate and relevant responses to nearly every query imaginable. This integration is expected to enhance safety, comfort, and productivity on the road. In my opinion, this partnership marks a significant step forward in the development of AI-powered in-car assistants, and it will be interesting to see how this technology evolves in the future.
