A team from St. Cloud State University has been accepted into the prestigious American Association of Colleges and University (AAC&U) Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum. This initiative aims to address the opportunities and challenges that Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents in educational settings. The selected team comprises seven faculty, staff, and administrators who will participate in virtual events, mentorship sessions, and monthly meetings throughout 2024-2025. The program’s primary objective is to develop strategies that increase AI literacy among students, enabling them to leverage AI in their studies and future careers. Dave Blanchard, Director of Online and Distance Learning at St. Cloud State, emphasizes that this initiative will help the university integrate AI into teaching practices, thus preparing students for an AI-driven world. The team includes experts from various fields, including education, criminal justice, computer science, and community antiracism education, ensuring a comprehensive approach to AI integration.
