Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has launched a comprehensive Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI, aiming to establish a systematic and balanced approach to addressing generative AI concerns while facilitating innovation. The framework expands on the existing Model AI Governance Framework, which covers traditional AI, and addresses the unique risks and challenges associated with generative AI. The nine dimensions of the framework include accountability, data, trusted development and deployment, incident reporting, testing and assurance, security, content provenance, safety and alignment research and development, and AI for public good. The framework provides guidance on allocating responsibility, ensuring data quality, and implementing safety measures, among other aspects. It also emphasizes the need for transparency, disclosure, and evaluation in the development and deployment of generative AI models.
