A new survey by Capgemini Research Institute reveals that 73% of consumers globally trust content created by generative AI for tasks like financial planning, medical diagnosis, and relationship advice. The report, titled “Why Consumers Love Generative AI,” is based on data from 10,000 consumers across various countries. Over half of the respondents are aware of generative AI trends and have explored its tools, with usage consistent across age groups and geographies. Chatbots, gaming, and search are the most satisfying use cases. Additionally, a significant number of consumers trust generative AI for financial planning (53%), medical diagnoses (67%), and drug discovery (63%). However, the awareness of ethical concerns and potential misuse of generative AI is low, with many unconcerned about risks like fake news and phishing attacks. Capgemini emphasizes the importance of regulation, education, and ethical safeguards. The report suggests businesses have a significant opportunity to leverage generative AI to meet consumer demand for personalized recommendations and improved customer interactions.
